This time I'd like to write about QWARTZ ELECTRONIC MUSIC AWARDS at CABARET SAUVAGE on 4th of March in Paris. First of all I'd like to say thank you to all the people who came to see my LIVE there. Thank you so much.
We were hit by snow on that day in Paris. Some of them told me that they never had something like this in the past 30 years. Paris looked really beutoiful with snow on that day, but I was quite sure that most of the people who worked for this event didn't want this weather because we could easily imagine that this weather had no small effect on number of people who come to this event. While i was on the way to the venue, I was thinking about this too.
When i started playing, it was almost 4:00 am. As we thought, not so many people were at the venue even around midnight. I think that's because of the snow.
Actually there were two stages at there, big one and small one. This time I played at the smaller stage, and each stage were quite close each other. and I think you can imagine that I could hear the sound from the bigger stage quite loud even from the smaller stage. It was really hard time for me during my LIVE show because of this condition. I don't know who was playing at the bigger stage when i started playing, but his sound was really loud and hard, so that it was quite hard to listen to even my own sound during my whole performance.. I was really sorry for people who came to see my LIVE at there... I'd like to play at the bigger stage next time.. I know I'm not famous enough to get that opportunity at the moment. I need to work harder to get better condition.

(オレはやったぜ)(maybe he's saying "I can open every doors.")
Here's today's Polco. Again he went out from my house for a walk by himself today.. He's done it quite many times so far. I'm really worried if he is involved in a traffic accident someday if he keeps doing this. But once one of my friends told me that he saw polco was waiting for the light to change at the cross road near the park. He was trying to go to the park by himself. I'm glad to know that he can wait for the lights by himself, but I'm still worried about him.. At the moment, There is no doors which he can not open in my house.. mmm we have to do something for this problem..

hi aoki,
while reading your schedule I was thinking the same as diana.. ! it must be great to play with such an amazing musician as Yoshihide. He's coming to switzerland next week-end with his Jazz Ensemble and Sachiko M. I look forward to hearing him.
By the way I saw Merzbow 2 days ago. It was impressing.
You said Polco is getting old.. but i'm pretty sure he keeps playing freesbee! Flying inu!!

Thank you very much for your comment.
>i'm sorry about your show at -cabaret sauvage-
Yes, It was not a good condition, but i learned a lot from that show. Now we're(we means Japanese labels) in quite difficult sitiation to distribute our works in Europe. We've been trying to do it really hard so far, but the situation is not changing at the moment. Now I know that it's necessary for me to release my works on a European label to have more opportunities to perform in the better condition. But i'm quite confident in myself to produce better works in the near future. and I have to do it.
>in april, i saw on your -live scheduale-, your're performing
>with otomo yoshihide.
Yes, I'm so glad to have this opportunity in NY. I've only seen Mr.Otomo's performance once in a few years ago, But Honestly speaking, i didn't really like his music and performance then but I'm really looking forward to see his act this time. Maybe I might chage my opinion this time.
I know he gains a high reputation from all over the world, and I'm so glad that i can perform in the same event with him.
>>Hi, Jim.
Thank you very much for your comment. How are you?
>By the way I saw Merzbow 2 days ago. It was impressing.
Again, Honestly speaking;-) I didn't really like his music when i played in the same event in a few years ago. I know he's been doing really great job in the noise music scene and he also gains a high reputation from all over the world, but I have to say that his music is not what i want to make.
>You said Polco is getting old.. but i'm pretty sure he keeps

Yes! he is still a really great Frisbee catcher!
Posted by: AOKI at March 13, 2005 11:18 PMHello Aoki,
About what you said:
I saw two performances from Otomo Oshihide: one with the "Otomo Yoshihide New Jazz Ensemble" and another one as a noise artist.
I did not enjoy very much the second one. But the one with the quintet was very intense. The drumer Yasuhiro Yoshigaki is astonishing, very very good. They had a musician guest Mats Gustafson (saxofone) and it fitted very well. (I knew Gustafson's work through Barry Guy, which I also love.) It worked out very good.
Good like for the recording and sound engeneering work of your new album.
thank you,
diana

Thanks again for your comment.
I haven't seen Mr.Otomo's Jazz band before. I'd really like to see it. I think this time in NY, he'll perform by himself. Maybe next time.
