Stroboscopic Artefacts presents the Monad series. Rarefied and introspective, confrontational and extreme, each featured artist will delve into the Monad concept:
"The generation of number series is related to objects of geometry as well as cosmogony. From the Monad evolved the Dyad; from it numbers; from numbers, points; then lines, two-dimensional entities, three-dimensional entities, bodies, culminating in the four ele - ments earth, water, fire and air, from which the rest of our world is built up."
AOKI takamasa's Monad IX is a stark example of exploring the periphery of contemporary electronic music and yet impressing an artisitc identity upon these fringes. An anonymous voice on 'mnd-sng-01' blurts 'shake everything', and this is his point. Shake not just yourself on the dance floor, but shake your notions of artistic processes. The tracks draw attention to themselves as constructions, they're not titled but serial numbered from 'mnd-sng-01' right through to 'mnd-sng-04'.

2010年1月27日に、僕の新しい作品"FRACTALIZED"がcommmonsからリリースされます。少し前にもお伝えしましたが、このアルバムは僕が2003~2009年にやらせていただいたremixを集めたものです。半野喜弘さん、sketch show, 坂本龍一さん、HASYMOの作品のリミックスと、自分の曲を自分でremixした作品が収録されています。チャンスがあったら是非デッカイ音で聴いてみてください。このチャンスをくださったcommmonsと、オリジナルのremixのチャンスをくださった半野喜弘さん、細野晴臣さん、 高橋幸宏さん、坂本龍一さんに心から感謝の気持をお伝えしたい。ありがとうございます。cover artの写真は自分で撮ったものを使用して、今回もデザインはraster notonのnibo君が素晴らしい仕事をしてくれました。nibo君、ありがとう。

My new album "FRACTALIZED" will be released on commmons on 27th of January 2010. This album consist of remixes which i did in 2003~2009. it has 9 remixes of Yoshihiro HANNO (RADIQ), sketch show, Ryuichi Sakamoto and HASYMO's songs and also my self-remixes too. Please check it when you have a chance. I'd like to thank you to commmons who planed this project and Yoshihiro HANNO-san, Haruomi Hosono-san, Yukihiro Takahashi-san and Ryuichi Sakamoto-san who gave me this amazing chance to remix their original songs. エレクトロニック・ミュージックにおける有機性、リズムやファンクといういまだ言語化されていない深淵を、明晰な探究心と卓抜した技術であざやかに提示してみせた傑作アルバム「Private Party」から約1年。ベルリン在住の日本人アーティストAOKI takamasaがcommmonsから放つ第2作目は彼が2003年から2009年にかけて坂本龍一やSKETCH SHOW、HASYMO、半野喜弘をはじめとしたアーティストの楽曲をリミックスしたものと自身の楽曲のセルフ・リミックスを纏めたリミックス・アルバム。
フランスの数学者ブノワ・マンデルブロがかつて提唱した幾何学概念「フラクタル」に着想を得たアルバム・タイトルが示すとおり、この作品ではAOKI takamasa自身がオリジナルの音源に対しさまざまな焦点を用いながら拡大と解析を行ない、それぞれのオリジナル楽曲固有のデティールを尊重しながらも、そこから派生した新たなテクスチャーを掘り起こしてみせている。既存の“リミックス”という概念さえ根本的な部分から考え直そうとしていく、AOKI takamasaの鮮烈な視点と音楽性にあらためて驚かされる作品集。
このリミックス・アルバムにおける彼のアプローチは実に独創的だ。AOKI takamasaはまずオリジナル楽曲を構成するサウンドの輪郭をきわめて入念かつ正確に捉えることから着手し、その輪郭に対してさまざまな焦点をあてていくことでそれら固有のサウンドからのみ抽出し得る新たな表情や量感を浮き彫りにしていく。このきわめて論理的なアプローチの根幹にあるものこそまさしくフラクタル概念そのものであり、結果としてオリジナル楽曲とそのリミックスの全体像における関係性はきわめて近似かつ自己相似なものとして結実する。このアルバムに収められたHASYMO [RESCUE] やRyuichi Sakamoto [WAR&PEACE]のリミックスなどはその論理的なアプローチがとりわけ顕著な形で成果をあげていると言える。それはRyuichi Sakamoto [composition 0919] のようにビートレスのピアノ・コンポジションをリミックスした作品においても同様といえ、AOKI takamasaが施した精緻きわまりないテクスチャーをたちどころに感じ取ることができる。
また、このアルバムでは彼自身のライブセットにおいてすでに披露され話題を呼んでいる [LOVE BITES] [Music for Sweet Room on the Orbit of the Earth] などのセルフ・リミックスも今回初めて音源化されて収録。これらのセルフ・リミックスでも前述同様AOKI takamasa独自のフラクタルなアプローチが鋭く発揮され、とくに [Music for Sweet Room on the Orbit of the Earth] のリミックスにおける、ほぼ骨組みの構造が剥き出しになるほどストリップダウンされたリズムの強度とその比類の無い研ぎ澄まされた緊張感は圧巻としか言いようが無いほど。

今回は今まで以上に自分の声を積極的に使ってみました。いつも通り自分でもかなり気に入ってます。自分にとっては色んな意味で大きなチャレンジやったので、皆さんにも気に入ってもらえると嬉しいな。良い感じの夜に良い感じの人たちと良い感じのサウンドシステムで爆音でどうぞ。近所の人に怒られたらそれをチャンスに仲良くなってみてください。

ベルリン一発目のエントリーは以前からこのblogでもお伝えしてたJung JaeHyungのアルバムの宣伝から。４月３日に韓国のseoul recordsからリリース。今回アジアのPOPSっていうカテゴリーにトライするチャンスを与えてくれたJaeHyungに感謝。最初は分からない事ばっかりで一時はどうなるのかと思ったけど、何とかええ感じでまとまったと思います。本当に沢山の事を学んだし、楽しかった。全１０曲中５曲に参加させてもらってます。
Jung HaeHyung's new album is going to be released on seoul records on 3rd of April 2008. I did 5 songs. I'd like to say thank you to JaeHyung for giving me a chance to try Asian POP music this time. To be honest I didn't really know what to do at the beginning but I gradually learned so many things and had so much fun.

半野さんの映画音楽の中でも僕の一番のお気に入りの"platform"をremixするチャンスをいただけた時は本当に嬉しかった。でも同時にちょっと緊張しました。大好きな曲をremixするってかなり難しい。案の定時間はかなりかかりながらも満足のいく結果になりました、楽しかった。半野さんありがとうございました。半野さんのアイデアで別々の３曲の素材を使って１曲を作るっていう方法でやってみました。久しぶりのノンビートもええ感じ。CD2枚組！男前やね。
I was so excited when Hanno-san asked me to remix his "platform" which is one of my best favorites, but i was a bit nervous at the same time. Remixing my favorite song is a quite dificult thing to do. however it took a while but finally i managed it and I like the result very much. I mixed three different songs into one and it worked quite good i think. THNANK YOU so much Mr.Hanno for giving me a chance to remix your work. 2CDs!!

2008年1月23日にcommmonsから細野さんのトリビュートアルバムがリリースされたそうです。今回も参加させていただいてます。このチャンスをくださった細野さんに感謝！今回はYMOの"インソムニア"っていう曲を、僕、半野喜弘さん、田中フミヤさんの３人でカヴァーしてみました。僕が最初に曲の基本型になるドラムとヴォコーダを作って、フミヤさんが後半の4/4リズムを作られて、半野さんがベースとキーボードと最終的なまとめを担当してくださいました。めっちゃ気に入ってます。すげー良いのができたと思う。坂本さんも細野さんもこの曲の歌詞全然覚えてないって仰るし、僕がもらった歌詞カードの歌詞と曲中で歌ってる歌詞が全然違うし、、適当に耳コピして、オリジナルのヴォコーダと同じような声になるように適当にでっち上げて歌いました。ヴォコーダかかってるし何言うてるかあんまり分からんから、まあええかって思って。enjoy.
commmons released a Tribute album to a Japanese musician Mr.Hosono Haruomi on 23rd of January 2008. I'd like to say thank you to Mr.Hosono who gave us a chance to join this project. This time Me, RADIQ aka Yoshihiro HANNO and Fumiya Tanaka covered one of the songs together from YMO(Yellow Magic Orchestra - Haruomi Hosono + Ryuichi Sakamoto + Yukihiro Takahashi) called "INSOMNIA". I made basic drums and vocoder and Fumiya Tanaka made 4/4 part at the end, and RADIQ made bass and keyboard and also he mixed me and Fuimiya's sound together at the end. I really really like this song myself, so Please check it when you have a chance. Enjoy.

1月25日から東京の音響ハウスっていうスタジオで、以前から一緒に作業してる韓国人ミュージシャンのJung JaeHyungのアルバムのミキシングをやってます。早乙女正雄さんがエンジニアとして参加してくださって、今の所ええ感じで進んでます。早乙女さんはヴィンテージのアナログ機器を多用しておられて、デジタルとアナログの良い部分を上手くミックスして、暖かいけどシャープな音を作ってくださる。この人凄い。毎日知らなかった事とか新しい事とか知れてホンマに刺激的。次のアルバムのミキシングも早乙女さんにお願いしようと思って。ミキシングを他の方にお願いするのは初めて。
I've been in a studio (ONKIO HAUS in Tokyo) since 25th of January to do mixing for Jung JaeHyung's album. This time we asked Mr.Masao Saotome as a mixing engineer and so far so good. He uses a lot of vitage analogue equipments and also softwares and digital hardwares. He uses good side of both analogue and digital and make sharp but soft and warm sounds. amazing. I'm learning so many things everyday from this mixing work. I'm gonna ask Mr.Saotome to mix my next album too. I've never asked somebody to mix my sound. I'm looking forward to it.

最近東京楽しい。

ご無沙汰してます。9月27日から29日までの三日間、モロッコのFesっていう街で行われてたSLAM&KLAM Festivalに参加させていただきました。僕にとっては初めてのモロッコ＋アフリカ大陸（端っこやけど）で、飛行機から降りた瞬間から空気とか景色とか色んな要素が新しくて凄く新鮮でした。今回のチャンスを与えてくれたフェスティバルのスタッフ全員に感謝したい。まさかモロッコのFESに僕のファン(スタッフの人たちでしたけど、）がいるなんて思ってもみなかった。音楽続けててホントに良かった。
It's been a while again. I had a chace to visit Fez in Morocco and played for SLAM&KLAM Festival. It was my first time to visit Morocco and also African continent. Air was different and everything came into my eyes was different. almost everything was new for me. I'd like to say THANK YOU so much for everybody who worked for this festival, and thank you all for giving me a chance to play in Fes.

The Last Poets
今回The Last Poetsっていうアーティストと知り合う機会をいただけた。正直言って(恥ずかしながら)僕は彼らの事は知らなかったんですが、70年代からメッセージ性の強い詩とパーカッションを用いたラップの源流のような事をやっておられたと教えてくださった。フェスティバル初日にやらせてもらった僕のLIVEを気に入ってくださって、光栄にも3日目の彼らのLIVEの最後の曲に僕も参加させていただけた。Dune, Baba, Umarの３人に心から感謝したい。これは彼らのLIVE前日にあったアーティストを集めてのディスカッションの時。ディスカッションがいつの間にか彼らのLIVEに。贅沢な時間でした。
This time i had a chance to meet with The Last Poets. To be honest i didn't know about them very much, but I was really amazed by their music and their LIVE show. They gave me a great chance to perform with them on the last song for their LIVE show. It was really really special moment for me. Thank you very much Dune, Baba, and Umar.
滞在期間中にも３人とは色々と話もさせていただいて、世界で起っているテロのほとんどがアメリカを中心とした各国政府の情報機関と軍による自作自演であるとか、エイズはアメリカが作った生物兵器であるとか、他にも色々とお話させていただいた。彼らはLIVE中でもこういう事をガンガン詩に混ぜてデカイ声で言うておられた。根性あるなー、かっこええなー。やっぱりこういう人たちはTVなどの主要メディアに騙される事なくちゃんと真実を知っておられるんやなって思いました。モロッコのアーティスト達もみんなこういう事をしっかりと真実として理解しておられるし、ゴリゴリの西側諸国の人たちとは違ってこういう話もしっかりとできたし、色々と情報交換ができて良い勉強になりました。
で、その３人が気に入ってくれた僕のLIVEは、実は僕にとってはかなりの修行LIVEで、、、LIVEが終わったら数百人いたオーディエンスが数十人に減ってて、、かなりヘコんだけど、、彼ら３人と他の出演者と残ってくれてた数十人には気に入っていただけただけたみたいで、救われた気分でした。オーガナイザ曰く、モロッコではアラブ語の入ってない音楽はまだかなり難しいとの事だったんですが、、それでもあの結果にはヘコむなー。僕のLIVE中にアラブ語のラップを入れてくれた現地のアーティスト達に心から感謝したい。それで何とか最後までもったんです。アラブ語のラップ結構カッコ良かった。もっと良い音楽作りたい。

モロッコの若者達の間では今でもモロッコの伝統的な民族音楽の人気は根強くて、僕と同じステージにこういう民族音楽の演奏家の方々も参加されて、ガッツリ若者達を盛り上げておられた。僕なんかより圧倒的に人気あったし。自国の文化がまだしっかりと守られてるなーって思った。これは元王宮だった敷地の庭で皆さん集まってレコーディング。
フランス人ジャーナリストのMarionが撮ってくれた。ちょうど上のThe Last Poetsの３人の写真を撮ってる所やと思う。Merci Marion.
次のLIVEは10月28日にソウルであります。すげー楽しみ。ソウルでLIVE初めて。

半野さんの主催するレーベル"cirque.MAVO"から、8月11日に"LIVE recordings 2001-2003"をリリースしていただく事になりました。このアルバムは（多分）2001年（ぐらい）から2004年まで僕が個人的に少量生産していたLIVE CD-Rシリーズの良いとこ録りって感じのアルバムです。2001~2003年の間にやらせてもらったLIVEをマイク録音したものなので、会場の雰囲気とかオーディエンスの盛り上がりも感じてもらえるかなって思ってます。今回このアルバムのリリースを提案してくださった半野喜弘さんとディストリビューションを担当してくださっているULTRA VYBE、またマスタリングをしてくださった早乙女正雄さんと大久保さん、スタジオCueve、それにこのリリースに関わってくださった全ての方々に感謝します。ありがとうございました。
I'm going to release "LIVE recordings 2001-2003" from RADIQ aka Yoshihiro HANNO's label "cirque.MAVO" on 11th of August 2007. This album consists of 5 LIVE recorodings from my LIVE CD-R series which i've released very few copies from 2001 to 2004. All tracks are recorded by microphone except track1, so you might be able to feel the atmosphere of the venue and audience, and I hope you enjoy that part too. i'd like to say thank you to Yoshihiro HANNO who gave me a chance to release this album, ULTRA VYBE who distribute this work in Japan, Mr.Masao Saotome who did mastering and also studio Cueve, and also all the people who worked for this release. Thank you very much all. Unfortunately this work is also distributed only in Japan again... I hope you can get it somehow..

青木孝允は、そのキャリアにおける濃密なスタジオ・ワークと同様に、ライブでのパフォーマンスに対し一貫して精力的に取り組んできたアーティストだ。
今回リリースされるこの作品には、2001年から2003年にかけて彼がバルセロナ、京都、大阪、東京で行なったライブ・パフォーマンスが収められている。沸騰したソリッドなリズム、鋭利なノイズ、柔らかく繊細に重ねられたレイヤーといったディテールは現在の青木孝允が生み出す作品と地続きの地平にあるものだか、特筆すべきはこれらのライブ・レコーディングから伝わるある種の新鮮さを伴った透明な感覚であり、これは当時のエレクトロニカもしくはIDMといったタームを遥かに飛び越えた、青木孝允というアーティストのパーソナリティにおける最も核心の部分にあるものだと言ってもよい。リズムとグルーヴに対する純粋な畏怖と探究心という要素はまさに彼にとっての初期衝動と言え、そもそも「誰もまだ聴いたことが無いファンキーなリズムを創りたい」という押さえ難いモチベーションゆえに彼はソフトウェア／コンピューター・ベースでの創作を始めたという経緯がある。
この作品に収められた2001-2003という時期、彼はイヴェント規模の大小や国内外を問わず毎週のようにライブをこなし、純粋な初期衝動に突き動かされ続けながらあらゆる表現手法を試行・模索し続けてきた。同時に、彼自身のアーティストとしてのパーソナルな意識の醸成プロセスもこの時期における一連のライブ・パフォーマンスの中で行なわれてきたとも言えるだろう。この作品は青木孝允のアーティストとしての成長と進化が生々しいほどの密度をもって刻み込まれたドキュメントとしての側面も持ち合わせている。

AOKI takamasaとしては通算6作目となるアルバム・リリース。
これまではエレクトロニカという枠組みで捉えられることが多かったAOKI takamasa

チャレンジ。しかし、AOKI takamasaならではの透明感たっぷりの音色センスと丹念

Op.disc proudly launch their very first full album “PARABOLICA” by AOKI takamasa.
AOKI is a Paris based Japanese Artist who has been playing all over the world.
His music has often been categorized as “electronica”, but on this album,
he broadened his musical boundary by challenging straight forward 4/4 rhythm on
dancefloor oriented minimal house style, yet you can still find his unique crispy,
clear, but glitchy phrases/soundobjects through the entire album.
His strong character is obviously making this album different from other
“cliché” minimal tracks and showing what “the high quality” is.
This essential album also shows his love towards the funky rhythm,
but the most impressive feature of this album is his unique pop sense and variety.
His vocal (e.g. ASCARI dry condition), beautiful silky synth phrases, tough and interesting

現在フランス・パリを拠点に独自の創作活動を繰り広げるAOKI takamasaによる最新

これまでのAOKI takamasaの作品とは明らかに異なり、今作では4つ打ちのミニマル・
トラック的フォーマットを大胆に導入した4トラックを収録。
リズムとリズムの隙間にAOKI takamasaらしいファンクを感じさせる[MIRABEAU]、
ゆったりとしたピッチのリズムと重いボトムが波打ち続けながら自らのヴォーカルサ
ンプルや浮遊感のある音色がちりばめられた[ASCARI wet condition]など、この12イ
ンチに収められたトラック群は巷に溢れる没個性的なミニマル・テクノとは全く趣を
異にする。
丹念に鍛え上げられたリズム、ひとつひとつの音色の強度とクオリティはもちろんだ
が、AOKI takamasaならではの透明感のあるグルーヴ、躍動感にあふれたファンクネ
スはいつになくストレートな形で表現されており、これは4/4リズムという誰もが慣
れ親しんだ形式を引用しているところに大きく起因している。逆説的な見方をすれ

また、ありきたりで決まりきっていると一般的に考えられている形式であっても、そ

Op.disc009 is a 12 inch single by a Paris based Japanese artist AOKI takamasa
and this is a foretaste to his full album “PARABOLICA” coming out in autumn 2006.
This single contains 4 tracks, and on this, he is showing his different approach
by challenging 4/4 rhythm minimal tracks.
Like “MIRABEAU”, the simple yet effective rhythm with his unique funkness, and
“ASCARI wet condition”, vocal(by himself) and crispy soundobjects floating on the slow
but heavy rhythm, all 4 tracks are totally different from what we call “minimal techno”.
On this single, his well known crispy/glitchy soundobjects, the sound quality, the silky
and groovy phrases and the funkness are still there, but you may find that these characters
are highlighted than ever.
It is just because he is using straight forward/audience familiar 4/4 rhythm format. But,
AOKI is telling you that “cliché” can be transformed into “new and unique” by using your
imagination and sensibility.
Enjoy this straight forward but totally new taste of minimal music from Op.disc!

ご無沙汰です。先月末にパリ戻ってから２週間ほどブレイクを取って、それ以降はずっと12inchとアルバムの作業に没頭してます。結構いい感じで仕上がってきたと思ってます。早く皆さんにも聴いていただきたい。
昨日はNao Tokui君の家でsync podcastの収録。今回は日本からネット経由で澤井妙治 君に参加してもらって、彼のインタビューをメインにビデオでのpodcastにしてみました。思ったより収録が長くなってしまって、録画時間は最終的に１００分を超えてしまったので、２回ぐらいに分けてアップする予定です。澤井君の自由な感じをいい感じでお伝えできるんじゃないかと思ってます。是非チェックしてみてくださいね。

it's been a while again. I had short break for a couple of weeks after coming back from Japan, then I've been still working on my new 12inch and album now. It's almost done, and I'm really satisfied with it. I'd like you to listen to it as soon as possible, but please wait a bit more. By the way, finally we op.disc found a distributer in Europe, so this album will be the first work which is properly distributed in Europe for me. I'm really happy now. Finally.. I'll be able to stand at the same starting line as other European musicians. It was a long way to get here.. This is a kind of my debut album ;-)
Anyway, I visited Nao Tokui yesterday to shoot our podcast. This time we interviewed one of my favorite artist (he's also one of our best friends) Taeji Sawai(portable[k]ommunity) by internet. We uploaded a video interview this time, but I'm sorry that we only spoke Japanese this time again... ;-) We mainly talked about what he's gonna do at sonar for this time. We recorded too long(more than 100 minutes) so we split his interview in two. Enjoy Japanese language :-)

I've mentioned about this before on this blog, Masayasu Tzboguchi Trio released their album on Japanese label Flyrec. and I did remix on track6. Unfortunately they said they're not gonna release its original version of this song so you can't check the difference between them but.. I really like this remix. 日本語のウェブもアップ予定です
青森県六ヶ所村にある核燃料再処理施設の本格稼働中止を求めて、坂本龍一さんをはじめ環境問題に関心のある多くのアーティスト達が集まって『Stop ROKKASHO.org』というウェブを作りました。微力ながら僕も参加させていただいています。
僕も最初は原子力による発電はある程度放射能は出るけど、まだクリーンな方やとずっと思ってたんです。でも去年の夏ぐらいに１級プラント配管技能士の平井憲夫さんという方が、97年に亡くなられる前にお書きになられた『原発がどんなものか知ってほしい 』というウェブを読んでからは、自分がどれだけ原発に関して無知だったかを痛感させられて、原発に対する自分の考えを根本から変えざるを得なくなりました。ご存知の方も多いと思いますが、この六ヶ所村にある再処理施設というのは、１日で普通の原発が出す放射能の１年分を出してしまうようなそんな施設なんです。僕も自分には何ができるんかなって結構悩みましたが、何もしないで終わるよりも、とにかく自分ができる何らかの方法でアクションを起こそうって思ってたんです。ちょうどその時に坂本さんからご連絡をいただいて、今回このアクションに参加させていただく事にしました。興味のある方は是非このウェブをチェックしてみてください。今は英語だけですが、これから週ごとに日本語のウェブも含めてアップされる予定です。自分にはまだ子供もいないけど、僕と同じ世代の人たちの子供や孫が大人になる頃には一体この地球はどうなってるのかって考えると、今行動を起こさずにはいられないと思ったんです。毎日自分がやりたい事をやって生活していくには、まずはその土台をしっかりさせなアカンなって思って。
"Bricolages" -CHASM REMIXES- Warner Music Japan
こういう内容のエントリーの時にリリース情報を同時にupするのもどうかと思ったんですけど、僕にとって音楽は今自分ができる最大のアクションの一つやと思っているので、この同じエントリーにリリース情報を書かせていただきます。2004年にリリースされた坂本龍一さんのアルバム『CHASM』のリミックスアルバム、"Bricolages"が５月２４日に日本先行でリリースされる事になりました。僕は『CHASM』の中から"War&Peace"という曲を選びました。自分でもこのREMIXではかなり良い仕事をしたんじゃないかと思ってます。前から何度も言ってるけど、リミックスっていうのは原曲のポテンシャルが高ければ高い程良いものに仕上がると僕は思うんです。この坂本さんの原曲も曲の持つポテンシャルもアイデアも素晴らしい。作曲者へのリスペクトを表す方法として、その原曲をさらに高い位置にまで持って行くというのが僕が常にリミックスの時に心掛けている事の一つなんです。今回はそれがかなり良い位置にまで持って行けたような気がします。是非チェックしてみてください。坂本さん、今回僕にリミックスのチャンスをくださって本当にありがとうございました。勉強になりました。
I don't know if it's a right place to annouce my new releases infomation but, I believe that the music is the only way to express myself, so I'd like to inform you my new release information about REMIX album "Bricolages" of Ryuichi Sakamoto's album called "CHASM" which was released in 2004. You can check some more information on my news. They'll release it in Japan first then in also Europe and US. I'm not really sure exactly when they release it in overseas but I'll let you know as soon as i get information about it. I did quite good job this time, and I really like this REMIX myself because the original song "War&Peace" is really beautiful song. Whenever I do REMIX I always get a lot of help from those original songs. I always try to make them better to show my respect to composers who gave me a chance to remix their works. and this time it worked in really good way. Please check it when you have a chance. I'd like to say thank you very much to Mr.Ryuichi Sakamoto who gave me a chance to remix his work. I learned so many things from it.
明日パリに戻ります。今回の帰国はホンマに楽しかった。

2月10,11日にベルギーのHasseltっていう街で行われたfatcat主催のフェスティバルでの写真をLIVE reviewsにアップしておきました。ちょっと遅くなったけど。この場を借りて会場に来てくださったオーディエンスの皆さん、fatcat records、会場となったKunstencentrum BELGIEのスタッフの皆さんにお礼をお伝えします。ありがとうございました。このイベントは正に十人十色って感じで、様々なスタイルを持ったアーティスト達がそれぞれの個性を爆発させてた感じがしました。ほんと色んな人がいるなー、価値観も様々。良い勉強になりました。自分達のライヴはまあまあの結果やったと思います。途中上からビールが落ちて来るっていうハプニングもあったけど、機材にビールがかからなくて良かった。このイベントで４年ぶりにCom.A君に会った! ３人で大爆笑。
そう言えばfatcatのウェブで去年の10月28日にロンドンでやった僕とツジコのライヴ音源が聴けるそうです。右上のプルダウンから"Radio Show"を選択してみてください。あのライヴはまあまあ良かったと思うけど、でもやっぱりライヴ録音ってなんかちょっと恥ずかしい。
I updated the review of fatcat festival in Hasselt Belgium on my LIVE reviews. First of all, I'd like to say thank you to all the people who came to see our show there, and also thank you to fatcat and all the people who worked for Kunstencentrum BELGIE. There were so many different kinds of musicians there and i enjoyed their differences.
By the way, now you can listen to me and Tujiko's LIVE which was recorded at THE LUMINAIRE in London on 28th of October 2006 on fatcat web. It was not a perfect show but i think it still works. I hope you enjoy it.
ACO "MASK" on Ki/oon SONY 22nd Feb.2006
以前blogにも少し書きましたけど、ACOの新しいアルバムに僕とACOがやったカヴァー曲が収録されてて、それが2006年2月22日にKi/oon SONY からリリースされるそうです。カヴァーしたのは"The Waitresses"っていうバンドの"I Know What Boys Like"で、いつも通りノリノリな感じに仕上がったと思ってます。”にゃーにゃー”が良い感じ。結構頑張ったので是非チェックしてみてください。
A Japanese female singer ACO is going to release a new album on Japanese major label Ki/oon SONY and I did a cover work on track 3. This will be released on 22nd of February 2006 but Unfortunately as always I don't think this will be distributed in other countries except Japan. The original song "I Know What Boys Like" was composed by the band called "The Waitresses". I made it bit more funky as always. I hope you like it. I love they way ACO sings "nya, nya, nya..."

今日ウェブのニュースで知ったんですが、African-AmericanのShany Davisさんっていう人が黒人で始めてスケートで金メダルを取った。アイススケートとか水泳とかって黒人の選手を全然見ないからよほど差別があるんやろうなって思ってたんですけど、このニュースを聞いてなんか凄く嬉しかった。ヨーロッパでも人種差別を露骨に感じる事が多い。（この記事に関しても、2月19日の時点では英語での記事が見当たらなかった）アジア人も黒人も、頑張って白人の舞台にガッツリ食い込んでいって欲しい。皆お互いを認め合って、それぞれの違いを理解して、もっと自由に表現できる世界になれば良いな。そういえばF1にも黒人ドライバ−はいない。黒人がF1の世界に食い込んでくるようになれば、きっとまた様々な記録が塗り替えられるやろうな。F1にはもっとFUNKが必要やな。日本人も頑張れ！

I found the news which said African-American Mr.Shany Davis got a GOLD medal on speed skate 1000m in TORINO Olympic. This is the first time African-American got GOLD medal on this category. What a great news. I realized that so far I haven't seen any Black people who does ice skate or swimming competition, so was guessing that there might be some color discrimination or something, but i was so glad to hear this news. Unfortunately I couldn't find English news for this( I found it in Japanese). I hope there'll be no color discrimination in any place and we can express themselves freely and respect and udersntad each differences. By the way i don't see any African F1 driver so far either... I'm sure they'll make incredible new records if they come to F1! We need more FUNK in F1 too.

今日はリリースのニュースを二つほど。一つは2005年11月18日にリリース予定のop.discコンピレーションです。アナログでのみ発売されていたop.discからの作品を２枚組のCDにまとめました。１枚にはそれぞれのアーティストのソロ作品、もう一枚にはそれぞれのコラボレーション作品が収録されています。アナログプレイヤーを持っておられなかった皆さんも、是非コレを期にop.discの作品を体感してみてください。今年の12月2日（大阪：SUNSUI)、12月3日（東京：UNIT）に同レーベル日本初のショウケースも開催される予定です。僕も参加させていただきます。そちらも是非。
I have two news about my releasing. op.disc will release their first compilation album on 18th of November 2005. They've been releasing their works only on 12inch vinyls, and finally they're going to release 2 CDs in one package. CD1 contains solo works and CD2 contains collaboration works for each artists. Please check it when you have a chance. and also op.disc will have the first show case in Japan on 2nd (Osaka :Sunsui) and 3rd(Tokyo :UNIT). I'm going to play there too. Please come.

僕もつい最近まで知らなかったんですけど、僕とツジコノリコ のアルバム『28』が８月２２日にイギリス、ヨーロッパ、日本で同時にfatcat recordsからリリースされる事になったみたいです。アメリカは１１月ぐらいになるそうです。上の画像は以前からこのblogでもご紹介している僕の友人でもあり、尊敬するアーティストでもあるMehdiが描いてくれたカヴァーアートです。最終的に音もビジュアルも凄く満足のいくものが完成したと思っています。Mehdi! 本当にありがとう！皆さんにも気に入っていただけると良いけど。。

このアルバムを作り始めてからもう４年ぐらい経つんですよ、、、すげー時間がかかったけど、今では時間かけて本当に良かったって思ってます。まだまだ未熟な面も多々ありますが、最終のマスタリングまで一切気を抜かなかったし、マスターが仕上がったその時点での最高の仕事をしたつもりです。自分としては”商品”としてのポップスじゃなくて、ちゃんと”作品”として機能するポップスをノリP（僕達は彼女をそう呼びます）と一緒に作ったつもりです。皆さんのご感想などいただければ嬉しいです。
I remember when we started making this album, it was about 4 years ago... It took so long time, but now i feel that I'm glad that i could spent a lot of time on this album. I know there are still some parts to be fixed but I think i did everything what i can do at this moment. We tried to make it POP but not like "POP as commercial product", It is POP but still it works as an Art work. I hope we made something like this.(Is my English OK???) Please give me some comments about this album if you have time. Thanks in advance.

以前このblogでもご紹介した僕と澤井妙治君の曲が収録されたアナログが、６月２５日にop.discからリリースされました。先週は『simply funk ep』で今週はop.discからの新作。今年の夏はリリースが続きそうです。やっぱり自分のアナログが出るって嬉しいですね。何が嬉しいかってジャケットがデカイのが嬉しい。
実はこのop.discからの作品が完成したのが去年の5月ぐらいだったので、今から聴くとちょっとツメが甘いというか、研究不足というか、反省点も多々ある感じなんですが、構成とか展開とか結構気に入ってます。今回僕がずっと昔から一緒に曲を作ってみたかったアーティストの一人である澤井君と一緒に作品を作る機会をいただけて本当に嬉しかったです。刺激的でした、また是非やりたい。澤井君、いつもカッコイイ音ありがとう。いつか前一緒に話してたtaecomやろう。
My another latest vinyl with Taeji Sawai has just released on op.disc on 25th of June. This time I'm so glad that i had a chance to work with Taeji Sawai(I think he's one of the most astonishing artist I've ever met). We exchange our samples each other and made new songs for this vinyl. Actually i finished this work in May 2004, it's about a year ago, so now i can find some parts which are not good enough, but i quite like those songs. It was really exciting opportunity to work with Taeji. Thanks Taeji!

I see this BENTLEY quite often recently in many cities in Europe. It is really beautiful car. I really love that smooth body line. I wanna drive this someday.

ご無沙汰してました。５月２６日から２９日までの４日間、半野喜弘さんとRyoichi Kurokawa君と僕の３人でGeneva, Lausanne, Luzernの３カ所を回る短いスイスツアーを行ってきました。今回このツアーの実現にあたって色々と動いてくれたAnita Scheuberと、３日間のイベントに関わった全ての人々と、ライヴにお越しいただいた全ての方々に感謝します。ありがとう！
写真でもご覧いただけるようにスイスでの３日間は素晴らしい天気に恵まれて、色々と勉強になった事も多かったけど、素晴らしい時間を過ごす事ができました。詳しいレビューはいつも通り近日中にTraksyとLIVE reviewsにアップさせていただく予定です。どうぞお楽しみに。
It's been a while. I just came back from SWISS tour with RADIQ aka Yoshihiro HANNO and Ryoichi Kurokawa a few days ago. We did three LIVE shows in Geneva, Lausanne, Luzern. First of all, I'd like to say thank you to Anita Scheuber who worked so hard to realize this tour and all the people we met and who worked for those events and also people who came to our LIVE shows. Thank you so much.
As you can see from the photos, we had really really beautiful weather in Switzerland this time. I'm planning to upload some photos on my LIVE reviews as always and also the web-magazine called Traksy (Unfortunately this web is only written in Japanese..) with some movies too. Please check them when you have time.
GenevaからLausanneへ電車で移動。こんな素晴らしい景色が数時間続く。窓全開で満喫しました。
今回のツアーでも黒川君の素晴らしく緻密で独創性たっぷりな映像を楽しませてもらったし、半野さんの恐ろしく洗練された複雑でシンプルでFunkyなライヴで打ちのめされました。。自分の未熟さを痛感しています。でもこんな凄い二人とツアーに回れて本当に良い勉強になりました。リョウ君、半野さん、ありがとうございました。
This time I really enjoyed Ryoichi's fine and ingenious images and also I was knocked over by RADIQ's incredibly complicated but still simple and funky LIVE performance. Now i strongly feel that i need to improve my sound more and more.. However, I'm so glad and happy to be able to get the opportunity to work with those such a talented people this time. Thank you so much, Ryoichi and Mr.Hanno!
そんな半野さんの新しいアルバム『Angelus』が先日リリースされました。何をやらせても誰も追随できないクオリティーと独創性と音楽性を猛烈な勢いで発揮する天才が、またまた信じられないぐらい美しくて実験的でそれでいて素晴らしくポップな傑作をリリースしました。僕もリリース前から何度も聴かせてもらっていたんですが、もう何も言う事はないです、素晴らしいの一言。こんな人が自分の身近にいるって本当に物凄い事やなって思うんです。感謝。半野さんは『今は天才なんかおらん。だって会うた事ないもん』って仰るけど、そりゃそうです、だってあなたが天才やから。僕はそう思いますよ。僕も今の所半野さん以外会ったことないし。

アルバムのマスタリングも無事に終わって、今はそれ以外の細々とした（でも重要な）仕事をこなす毎日です。アートワークも前々回にこのblogで紹介したMehdiにお願いしている最中で、仕上がりが待ち遠しい。昨日は僕の学生時代からの友人でパリに拠点を置いて活動している映像作家の河村勇樹にプレス用の写真を撮ってもらいました。ユウキありがとう。リリースに向けて日々着々と物事が進んでいるのを実感しています。早く皆さんにも作品を聴いていただきたい。
After finishing the mastering of our album, we've been working on the other works like cover art and e.t.c. everyday. Now the cover art is in progress by Mehdi who was on this blog before, and I'm really looking forward to it. Then We took some photos for press and promotion with Tujiko Noriko yesterday. This time a visual artists who's been working in Paris and also is one of my friend Yuki Kawamura took those photos for us. Thank you Yuki. Now we're almost ready but still have to work a bit before it is released. I'd really like you to listen to this album as soon as possible.

One of my friend Taeji Sawai made incredible track for this vinyl and I really really like it. Some of you might listened to it already because Fumiya Tanaka plays this track quite often recently. I'm always surprised by Taeji's great works... He's great.

I realized that it's been one year since i started this blog.. Time past so fast.. too fast maybe. I read my old entries the other day and they are all really bad.. I hope it gets better than before now, but anyway i need to improve my English and also Japanese writing. 今年の１月にフランスの西の端の海沿いにあるLa Rochelleっていう小さな街でライヴをさせてもらって、今回そのオーガナイザさんからまたまたライヴのお誘いをいただいたんです。前回はまあ色々とあってかなり”修行”なライヴになってしまったんですけど、彼らもその事をかなり気にしてくれていたみたいで、今回は凄く満足の行くイベントになったと思います。幸い天気にもある程度恵まれて、凄く気持ちの良い時間を過ごさせてもらいました。このライヴの実現にあたって、オーガナイザのLaurentとAssociation meo、それと写真やビデオを撮ってくれたYに感謝します。ありがとうございました。
I did LIVE at city called La Rochelle in the very west of France in this January, and the organizer of this event gave me another chance to play at there this time again. I think I've done quite good LIVE this time. The sound systems were really good and all the people who worked for this event also did great job. I'd like to say thank you to Laurent who organized this event and everybody who works for Association Meo, and also Y who shot photos and video. Thank you all.
オーガナイザ曰く、この街には学生とお金持ちの老人しか住んでないそうですが、、確かに老人は多かったし学生も多かった。街自体は凄く古い建物ばかりで構成されていて、日本人の僕には物凄く特殊な空間に感じました。西洋建築にはある程度慣れてると思ったけど、時々こういう本当に古い街並に足を踏み入れると自分が日本人である事を痛感します。外国！って感じ。
La Rochelle is really beautiful city and i really like it. I've been spending quite a lot of time out of Japan and I thought i already get used to seeing European cities, But once i step into an old city like this, i felt very stong feeling that "I'm a Japanese". I felt like i'm in somewhere else. I hope you understand what I'm trying to tell you.
会場として使用されたChapelle Saint-Vincentは元々教会として使用されていた建物なんですが、今は多目的スペースとして街が管理しているそうです。こじんまりとした会場でしたけど、心配していた会場の残響もそれほど無くてなかなか雰囲気の良い感じでした。
Chapelle Saint-Vincent was (as you can tell from its name) used as an church in long time ago, and now they're using this place for a lot of events. I thought they might have strong natutal reverb inside the building, but it was not that much and it made me feel much better before i play my sound.
今回のライヴには招待客のみが入場できるように予め設定されていたし、出演者も僕一人だけだったので集客はそれほど多くはなかったんです。でも皆凄く真剣に僕の音に聴き入ってくれていて、ライヴ後にはかなりのご好評をいただけました。自分が真剣にやったパフォーマンスを真剣に聴いてもらうって凄く気持ちいい事やし、凄く幸せな状況ですよね。こういう感じのイベントにもっと出たいなー。エンジニアのMathewが凄く良い仕事をしてくれた。thank you Mathew!

This event was held for people who had an invitation card and I was the only one to play, so there were not so many people were there. However all the people listed to my LIVE very carefully and they told me that they really liked my performance after the show. It was really nice event. I'd like to say thank you to all the people who came to see my LIVE at there. and also sound engineer Mathew did a great job for this. Thank you Mathew.

帰りの電車で撮った写真です。思ったんですけど、植物って太陽の光が当たってる時と当たってない時との見た目の落差って物凄いものがあるように感じるんです。太陽が当たってる時って『やったー！生きてるぞ！』って感じがするけど、そうでない時って凄くヘコんでるように見えたんですよ。面白い。それに気付いて以来そういう風にしか見れない（笑）

以前からこのblogでもご紹介していた、半野喜弘＆田中フミヤが新しく立ち上げたレーベル『op.disc』がようやく本格的に始動しました。リリース第一弾はボス二人による12inchです。フミヤさんが半野さんの音を使って、半野さんがフミヤさんの音を使って作られた曲や、それぞれのソロワークも収録されていてどの曲もかなりカッコイイんです！ 僕とtaeji sawai君が同じようなコンセプトで作った曲も、このレーベルから夏ぐらいにリリースされる予定です。是非お近くのレコードショップで視聴してみてくださいね。
A new label called op.disc by Radiq aka Yoshihiro Hanno and Fumiya Tanaka is now ready! They've just released a new 12inch vinyl recently and (of course) they are really really great works. ２年ほど前だったと思うんですが(確かLIVE reviewのペイジでご覧いただけます）、アーティストのevalaさんが主催されている、大阪の南港にある赤レンガの倉庫を再利用した大阪市のイベントportに出演させていただいた事があるんです。そのイベントに出演したアーティストが参加したコンピレーションアルバム『port doc.1-5 / V.A.』が、新しいレーベルportから、11月５日にリリースされるそうです。僕も１曲提供させていただきました。今回僕は以前の赤レンガ倉庫でのライブを思い出して、そこで演奏したら映えるやろうな、、っていう感じの曲を作ってみました。その会場は物凄く（驚く程）広い空間で、会場が持つリヴァーブ感も物凄いんです。そこであの曲を流すと、きっと良い感じになると思うんです。皆さん、機会があれば是非聴いてみてください。
I think it was about two years ago, I joined the event called port in Osaka which was organized by evala. He's also an artist, and this time his new label port in going to release a new compilation album "port doc.1-5 / V.A." on 5th of November 2004. Actually "port" was held at an old brick warehouse in Osaka bay area, and it has some incredibly huge spaces and also it has great reverb too. I made one song for that album this time, and i think this song fits to this venue very much. I mean It'll be really nice if i play this song in that brick warehouse. I'd really like to listen to it at there again someday. Please check this album when you have a chance.

今日は今からnao tokui君と合流して、Pigalleっていう所に楽器を観に行ってきます。ミニカー屋さんもあるそうなので、ちょっと楽しみ。

９月１日にdaisyworkd discsからSKETCH SHOWのリミックスアルバムが発売されます。今回僕も"MARS"という曲をリミックスしました。自分ではかなり気に入ってます。この前のコンピレーションみたいに音が悪くなければ良いですけど。。機会があれば是非聴いていただきたいです。原曲よりカッコイイですよ（笑） 原曲を元にめちゃくちゃにするのは簡単ですけど、それをより良く聴こえるように、原曲の良さを更に引き出すように頑張ってみました。自分のサイトにも情報をアップしましたので、良かったらチェックしてみてください。日本人の根性見せたつもりです。
I did remix for SKETCH SHOW and it will be released as remixs album on daisyworkd discs in 1st of September. I don't know if it will be distributed in other countries but, I hope so.. I think i did quite a job this time. I'd like you to listen to it when you have a chance. I'm sure it is much better than original version ;-) It's really easy to make something screwed up with original sounds and make something different as a remix, but I didn't do like that and i tried to make the original song better this time. I hope it's not gonna be like a compilation album(the one on daisyworld before). My work sounds really bad on that compilation album.. I updated some information about it on my web, but i'm sorry that we only have Japanese info. But you still can check who els did remix on this album.

A compilation album "audio sponge 2" was released yesterday on daisyworld disc. This time i put a different version of "simply funk" from my new album. I don't know if you can get it in Europe or US,but if you have a chance, please check it. That's my favorite track. Anyway, Who are those girls?

明日から南フランスのToulouseっていう街に行ってきます。そこで開かれるles siestes electroniquesっていうフェスティバルに参加させていただける事になってます。去年はソロで出させてもらったんですけど、今年はツジコノリコと一緒に出演させていただく事になってます。今年は半野さんも一緒に行かれるので、楽しくなりそうです。
I'm going to Toulouse in south of France from tomorrow to play at les siestes electroniques. I performed alone last year for this festival and this time I'm going to play with Tujiko Noriko. Yoshihiro Hanno is also coming to play this time. I'm looking forward to it.
